beaver trails

As my sister-in-law said, you can certainly get a lot of bang for your buck on this short trail hike we took to find beavers up in the Gats.  We headed out to the Park this weekend to take in some of the emerging fall splendour, search for beavers and do a short trail run.  Only about 300m in on our first trail, we were not disappointed.  We arrived at a swampy water’s edge to encounter one busy beaver.  He seemed completely unaware (or undisturbed) as we watched him chew on a twig, neatly debarking it.  The adults enjoyed the site just as much as the children.  In addition to the beaver, I loved watching the young ‘uns run freely along the trails excited to be doing some “trail running” in preparation for the cross country season to come.

welcome Fall

A favourite time of the year for me. Love the transition of seasons but especially the one to Fall. Brilliant colours, cooler nights making home feel cosier and of course, fall clothes!

outside looking in

Opening our doors this weekend to the Glebe House Tour.  Our home is certainly not the grandest on the tour, but it is a classic Glebe home built in the Edwardian period.  It has been renovated/modernized through the years in keeping with its heritage.  The House Tour is a yearly neighbourhood event put on by our local community centre.  All proceeds from ticket sales go to children’s programming.  For this reason we agreed to participate.  Seemed like a good idea at the time.   In hindsight, it may very well be.

Today though, I’ve had my limit of decluttering, organizing, and cleaning to last some time !!#@*&!?!   Since we have no plans to move, this was an opportunity for a thorough scrub and attention to some nagging household projects.  There is something to be said for a good cleansing and organizing frenzy like this once in while.  Once in a looonngg while.

you go girls

You can put them in dresses, but that doesn’t stop them from running.

Fluid.  Graceful.  Beautiful.

wild lime

…is the new colour of the playroom.  Mum moves out of her comfort zone.  Allows the children to express their individuality by choosing the colour.  It’s just paint, right?

On my mind…. a trip to the salon.  Time for some summer hair repair to get those beach waves back in shape after all the sun & swimming!
